THE DRAW FOR THE DOUBLES COMPETITION WILL TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY 28TH JULY AND PUBLISHED ON THIS PAGE.
Windsor Lawn Tennis Club welcomes all to the sport. Juniors being no exception, we have many schemes and events run throughout the year for our junior members, this page highlighting some of the key ideas.
Friday evening is designated as junior club night. Here juniors get priority over adults when wishing to use a court, with the exception of one court kept aside for adult members. At all other times of the week there is always a court where juniors have priority. We feel this encourages our younger members to play more often, and keeps people moving.
We facilitate the Ariel Mini Tennis scheme which encourages children to get involved in the sport from a young age. Starting at Mini Tennis Red (where players have small courts, short racquets and really soft balls), as they grow older they progress through yellow (bigger court with a quicker ball), to green (fast ball, full size court). It helps gain confidence, and the correct technique right from the start, and allows people of all ages and abilities into the sport. For more information on the Ariel Mini Tennis Scheme, click on the icon on this page.
We run more advanced coaching sessions for better players, with weekly development squads and team matches across the country. The Junior co-ordinator sits on the club's 'Tennis Forum' in order to ensure that junior interests are represented. Juniors interested in playing competitively & representing the club in league matches should contact the Junior Setion Co-ordinator Helen Leeson. Contact details can be found on the contact page.
