Ladies 1 v Caversham 1 Result
Jul 6th 2011 | (0)1st match of the season – 2- 2 : losing draw to Caversham 1
Team: Debra Schmidt, Maddie Mortimore, Katharine Radford, Helen Miles
Thrilling match against previous year’s champions. 2 good wins by Debra/ Maddie resulted in matches being tied at 2-2, but with games being equal it was necessary to play a deciding 10 point tie break. Unfortunately windsor narrowly lost this, but at least picked up a useful point.

Vets B Match v’s Bradfield/Basildon – 16th June 2011
1st Pair : Marnie Watson & Avril Hewlett
2nd Pair: Chrstine Jeffrey (acting captain) & Jaqueline McGreevyThe evening did not start well with various members of both teams in different locations, however we managed to get everyone together for start around 6.30′ish. With the first set out of the way, the first team won theirs 6-2, the second lost the tie break, the heavens opened and we all took shelter under a nearby tree! It soon became apparent that the rain was not going to be a brief shower, so the second pair went down to the indoor courts where one was available. Followed shortly after by a soaking wet first pair who had attempted to battle on through the rain! What a change! The second pair promptly won the 2nd set 6-2 and also the 3rd in a tie break. The first pair also took their second set so we were 2-0 up after the first round by which time it was 9.00pm.
A coin flipped and Bradfield’s captain won the toss and elected to play their rubber first against the seconds. This was a fairly comfortable win and luckily the coach vacated another court so the other rubber was also able to start. They also won very comfortably and we ended up with a 4-0 win. No time for tea as it was now around 10.20pm so we all made our weary way home.
This was only the second match Jaqueline has played in for Windsor, the first being Saturday 11th June and she is a great addition to our teams.
