WLTC Members

We are always happy to hear feedback from our members. In this newsletter we asked one of our fairly new members, Masako Hingley a few questions about her time with us at WLTC so far. If you’d like to feature in one of our club newsletters please email tennismanager@wltc.co.uk.

When did you become a member of WLTC? “August 2020 as soon as lockdown restrictions allowed”

How did you find out about WLTC?

“I recently moved to Windsor and my priority was to find a tennis club where I could meet likeminded people ,get some exercise and coaching and have fun.  I researched my local area and WLTC was just on my doorstep.  Lucky!”

Have you tried any of the club sessions?

“Yes.  many of them.  And every one has been fun and welcoming.”

Have you tried any private coaching or groups?“Yes.  I enjoy the private coaching sessions as well as the group and cardio sessions. I also enjoy meeting new people and playing doubles to practice my newly learnt skills.”

What do you like most about WLTC?

“WLTC is such a welcoming club with a great atmosphere.  The members, staff and coaches are all friendly, responsive and easy to talk to.  I really enjoy being able to have the variation of playing for fun and learning, via private or group lessons, new techniques to improve my games.  And the sessions are easily accessible due to the plentiful number that are available to members.  Also, My granddaughter started Mini Tennis Group Coaching and Kids Tennis Camps and she enjoys all of them.”

Member and Windsor Personal Trainer, Jill Huskisson, is committed to helping busy people exercise smarter not longer.Jill often gets asked:HOW DO I STRENGTHEN MY CORE!“It’s no wonder this gets asked a lot with the amount of rotational movement that occurs in tennis. It is vital to strengthen and prepare the body to be able to maintain good postural control and stability.”Jill’s tips to start strengthening your core do not involve endless crunches!Instead focus on core strengthening exercises that allow the muscles in your torso -front and back- to engage and rotate. Give these 3 a go – suitable for any fitness level.1. Stand tall, lock abs in and side bends2. Stand tall, brace abs, both arms above your head and raise one knee up as you lower your hands down to touch the knee. – repeat x 20 alternate or go for the balance and do 10 on each side.3. Soft knees, bring your arms up to chest height with elbows out and gently twist side to side. Follow your hands with your eyes and engage your core and work the muscle in your waist. If you’d like more tips on how to improve your game, improve your core and strength, or to book in for 1-2-1 or group sessions please email jill@jillhuskison.com.
