Club Manager Update 


 
Dear Members,

It’s a busy time at the club and we’re now excited to be entering the final stages of our 2 projects.
The changing room refurbishment & resurfacing works on court 11 are both on course for completion this month, thank you for your patience during these recent weeks. 
Further announcements and opening dates will be made in due course so keep an eye out. 

There’s plenty of tennis and social activities coming up soon including the French Open ‘Grand Slam Series’ Tournament (Entry deadline 15th May), and our Summer Salsa ‘Latin Themed’ Party! 
Tickets are on sale from the bar NOW so don’t miss out.

We hosted our annual Thames Hospice tournament earlier this month, which was a success and the money raised going to the hospice. Well done to the participants and thanks to all for getting involved.

Court 11 Update
Works on court 11 are still ongoing but entering the final stages now. 
We will confirm the opening date in due course. 


 
 Changing Rooms RefurbishmentRefurbishment works on the changing rooms are in the final stages. This week works will also commence in the front entrance, foyer area and corridor so please be aware if you are visiting the club.

Please follow the displayed signage around the site but if you have any questions ahead of your visit call the bar on 01753 830820. 

The changing rooms opening date will be confirmed soon.

 Slinger Ball Machine
It’s back and available to hire!

The Slinger Ball Machine has been successfully repaired and is now available to hire again from the Bar.Please see below the updated instructions for hiring the Slinger Ball Machine.How to Hire: The Slinger Ball Machine can ONLY be hired at the bar, or over the phone on 01753 830820, to avoid any issues of double bookings.Cost: £10phPlease be aware:The ball machine can only be used on courts 4, 7 & 10. The bar staff will check availability before booking you one of these courts.The ball machine cant be used if raining or if the court surface is wet. If in doubt please allow time to call the bar on 01753 830820, ahead of your reservation. Indoor Courts

Upcoming TournamentsClub Championships 2022

If you have entered the Club Championships, you should have received the draw via email. 
Please see the full draw up in the clubhouse, and incase you missed the details below:
 
InformationPlayers are responsible for organising their own matches and booking their own courts for these matches. You must write the completed scores on the draw (up in the bar area, on the notice board).Finals day will be held on Sunday 26th June so you must be available on this date should you get through to the final. Matches MUST be completed by the ‘Play By’ date shown. Any match not completed will be coin tossed by The Championships Committee the following day, the winners of the coin toss will advance through to the next round.The matches will be best of 3 sets, the 3rd set will be decided by a championship tiebreak (first to 10 points, 2 clear).Now that the draw has been done you can not change your partner for any of the doubles events. If one person is no longer able to play I am afraid you will have to forfeit your match.

 French Open 2022

We are excited to announce that entries for ‘Windsor’s French Open’ are now LIVE! 

WHAT IS IT?
The “French Open”  is part of the Windsor Grand Slam series. It will be run on the clay courts, and we are excited to be trialling a new format:Players will enter the tournament singularlyOnce entries close, the tournament committee will create pairs, and after each match you will be paired with a new partner – creating a fun, social environment for everyone to enjoy.We will be running a mens doubles and ladies doubles event, and will aim to keep the teams as fair as possible to give everyone a chance to get through to the final! The number of games you win will be converted into points, and the top 4 men/ladies with the most points at the end of the group stages will compete in the final.As part of the tournament we will be offering French themed food, which is all included in the entry price. We plan to start play promptly at 9am, so please ensure you plan to arrive with enough time to warm up and settle in for the first round of matches.

It’s Summer Party Time, with a Latin theme!

Come and enjoy a fabulous and fiery evening at WLTC, on Saturday 18th June.
Professional dancer Carol Clarke will introduce us to various styles of Latin Dancing, including:Modern ( Latin ) JiveBachataSalsaCha – ChaAnd even a Latin Line DanceGreat fun, easy to learn.
Dance the rest of the evening away to a selection of dance music of your choice.

Cancellation Policy
The cancellation policy is now48 hours, effective from March 8th, meaning you can now cancel your courts up to 48 hours before your court reservation.Opening Hours & Booking Info
Now open from 07:00, Monday-Fridays, and can be booked via your Got Courts account.

How to pay Adult Guest Fees
At the point of booking a court, the lead member will be able to tag their guest and make the payment before completing the booking. 
If there’s any issue making payment via Got Courts, please make sure you pay the guest fee at the bar beforeyou start on court.
Cost: Adult – £10
How to pay Junior Guest Fees
All Junior Guest Fees are to be paid at the bar beforeyou start on court.
Cost: Juniors – £2.50
 Hiring the Club House for an Event


Our clubhouse is available to hire for an event, please see the information below and if you have any questions please contact our Bar Manager Laura on bar@wltc.co.uk 

InformationAvailable Saturday 6.30pm to Midnight (last orders 11.30pm)*Set up can be from 6pm providing the club is quiet.Can hold up to 125 people£400 (for members) £500 (non-members) to hire the room for up to 50 people from 6.30pm to Midnight which includes 2 bar staff – payable by bank transfer at least a day before the event.  For 75 people a third bar staff will be provided (supplement of £75); For 100 or more people a fourth bar staff will be provided (supplement of £150)£200 deposit to hold booking and for security against damage to the clubhouse/equipment to be paid by at least 2 weeks before the event – deposit non-refundable if booking cancelled. 
Recommendations/ Optional ExtrasWe can recommend caterers or clients can bring in their own food/caterers (caterer’s responsibility to clean kitchen after use and provide all crockery and cutlery)Decorations can be put up which do not mark the walls etc – but must be removed immediately after the party.We can recommend DJ, photo booth etc or clients can use their ownFurniture can be moved by client, in consultation with Bar ManagerFor more information email bar@wltc.co.uk for the attention of the bar manager Laura.

No-Shows
As you will be aware the club has been closely monitoring no-shows in an attempt to increase court availability for all members.
Please remember to always cancel your court if you cant attend your reservation. Courts can be cancelled last minute, allowing another member to book the slot. Got Courts Assistance
