Dear Member, 

The winter season is well underway, and we have now moved our club sessions indoors, until April. 

There’s plenty coming up at WLTC in November for everyone, including our annual Mini Closed (for juniors), and Waves for Wishes Charity Tournament (for adults). 
And not too far away is our Xmas Party in December – thank you to all who’ve purchased their tickets, we were delighted to confirm earlier in October that all tickets are now sold out.

Club Sessions –
Move indoors from Sunday 30th October

Please note that court allocation may change during school holidays/tournaments or due to matches/events
Please pay for your session at the bar BEFORE going on to court and double check which courts you are on
The clubhouse may be closed or have restricted hours on Bank Holidays, however members can play on the outdoor courts on these days, at their own risk but no floodlighting will operate
 
 All the above sessions are ‘turn up and play’ except for Team Practice (your captain will email you with a rota for this session if you play team tennis) and the Friday Midweek Afternoon session – please email tennismanager@wltc.co.uk if you would like to join the rota for this session.



In Memory of Jeno Nesselfeld We added a bench to our grounds in memory of a dear friend and member of the club, Jeno Nesselfeld.
Jeno played regularly at WLTC and always spoke very fondly of enjoying his tennis and people at the club.

FIFA World Cup @ the Mustill Lounge in November!


The football world cup begins in November, and matches will be shown in the Mustill Lounge!
Bring your friends, and family, and come down to watch at the Mustill Lounge.  

And don’t forget – Live Sports are available to watch at the Mustill Lounge throughout the month.

Ladies Team Social Event

The team Captains are holding a ladies team social event at the Club on Friday 11 November, starting 7pm for a couple of hours roughly.
 
All ladies welcome (new or existing members) – those already playing, or who have played in a team (might be injured, rusty or just taking a break) and anyone now interested in playing in a team.

Mens Team Updates

The NPL Season starts November 13th away at Northwood, first home match a huge tie against Halton at home 1.30pm on 20th November.

You can recycle your old balls in the recycaball bins, available around the club. 

Don’t forget WLTC has an electric vehicle charging unit available for use at the entrance to the club.

Some of our members visited the Lew Hoad Tennis centre for 4 days in Spain during October.

12 WLTC vets were on the  successful trip, and Allan Pirrie deserves a huge shout out for organising.

Just a reminder WLTC have a Defibrillator located outside the front entrance to the club. 
 
The defibrillator is very simple to use and can be used by any adult in the event of an emergency.

First Aid equipment is also available behind the bar and all our coaches are fully trained first aiders. If you do have an accident at the club or witness one, please complete an accident report form with a member of the bar staff, club manager, or coaching team.

Guest Fees 
Adult Guests are required to be set up on Got Courts.   

The guest can do this themselves simply by downloading Got Courts app and setting up a profile

The Club Manager will check and approve the guest, add them as a ‘non-member’, which will allow them to be tagged into your bookings.

How to pay Adult Guest Fees
At the point of booking a court, the lead member will be able to tag their guest and make the payment before completing the booking. 
If there’s any issue making payment via Got Courts, please make sure you pay the guest fee at the bar beforeyou start on court.
Cost: Adult – £10
How to pay Junior Guest Fees
All Junior Guest Fees are to be paid at the bar beforeyou start on court.
Cost: Juniors – £2.50

Club Policy on No-Shows

No-Shows are unacceptable and will be recorded, with action taken against members who abuse the rules.
Please make sure you cancel your booking if you cannot attend for any reason, allowing another member the chance to book that court. If you have not arrived within 15 minutes of your outdoor court booking, it will be recorded as a no-show and the court will be released to other members.
WLTC management are aware that some members use more than one Got Courts account to get around the booking rules. Members are expected to have ­ONE Got Courts account each, linked to their own name.
 Please Be Aware
Any breach will be recorded against the lead booker, who is responsible for the booking
Action will be escalated if abuse is found and repeated or continues within a set period 
 Court Booking Rules – ConfirmationMembers are permitted to book courts, via their ONE Got Courts account
Members are required to tag ALL playing partners to their booking
Members can book up to 2 courts per day, with at least 1 hour gap in between bookings
Members should not be on 2 bookings simultaneously, either as the lead booker, or a tagged playing partner.
Members must arrive within 15 minutes of their outdoor court booking, or it will be recorded as a no-show, resulting in the court being released.

Hiring the Club House for an Event


Our clubhouse is available to hire for an event, please see the information below and if you have any questions please contact our Bar Manager Laura on bar@wltc.co.uk 

Information
Available Saturday 6.30pm to Midnight (last orders 11.30pm)*
Set up can be from 6pm providing the club is quiet.
Can hold up to 125 people
£400 (for members) £500 (non-members) to hire the room for up to 50 people from 6.30pm to Midnight which includes 2 bar staff – payable by bank transfer at least a day before the event.  For 75 people a third bar staff will be provided (supplement of £75); For 100 or more people a fourth bar staff will be provided (supplement of £150)
£200 deposit to hold booking and for security against damage to the clubhouse/equipment to be paid by at least 2 weeks before the event – deposit non-refundable if booking cancelled.
 
Recommendations/ Optional ExtrasWe can recommend caterers or clients can bring in their own food/caterers (caterer’s responsibility to clean kitchen after use and provide all crockery and cutlery)
Decorations can be put up which do not mark the walls etc – but must be removed immediately after the party.
We can recommend DJ, photo booth etc or clients can use their own
Furniture can be moved by client, in consultation with Bar Manager
